The church is beautiful (one star). The priests are nice (one more star). My family and I recently joined for those two reasons upon recently moving to the state/area. However, since joining we have attended regularly on Sundays and the church is extremely noisy. Kids screaming and crying, mostly. There is a cry room that is packed full for the most part, but most people don't even bother removing their disruptive children. I get that kids make noise. I have had them. We would leave when our kids were little until they calmed or we would sit directly in the cry room. We would not disrupt others from their time with God, like so many others in this church do. It is extremely frustrating to not even be able to listen to the message through all the bratty kids throwing tantrums and the inconsiderate parents that just let them.
Secondly, nearly everything the priest "says" is sung, except for the homily. All the responses by parishioners are sung as well. It is extremely annoying for our family who does not care to sing. We will be finding a different church to attend. We will not return for mass next Sunday. 5 weeks of singing and screaming was enough for us.Added May 23, 2017 by Kelly Ditsch - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Fr. Henehan is an amazing priest and the community is wonderful here. They always have so much going on.

Our family loves St. Jude mainly because of the wonderful and committed priests and the Sisters that run the school. Their hard work and prayer make St. Jude a wonderful place to be.

My daughter, Maria, and son-in-law, Mike, moved into the parish in August, 2015, from Normal, IL. While they moved from a great parish, I was pleasantly surprised to find that St. Jude was equally great. When we go to visit their family, at St. Jude's we find great priests, deacons and music at the Masses we attend. Eucharistic Adoration is available on certain days. The school even has Dominican Sisters!! How special is that! They attend the Mass that we usually attend and it is so good that they are there. It has been a long time since we have seen that.
As far as noise is concerned, obviously parents should tend to screaming children at Mass. That is what we did with our seven children. Lots of children is a sign of a growing and healthy future and that parents are trying to teach them their Catholic Faith. I never had that as a child as I was Southern Baptist, so I am impressed.
We live on the East Coast, and I am in "holy envy" of your great Diocese. You have lots of Seminarians, who we pray for daily, as well as for the Seminarians in our own Diocese.
We are always so happy to visit St. Jude. The Morning Mass Moms are to be congratulated for instilling in their children a love for the Lord and His Church at a very young age.
Keep up the good work, St. Jude Catholic Church. You all have a good Patron Saint!Added October 12, 2016 by Sonyia Brake
